my wedding vision board

just a girl dreaming of girly things

As you may know, my partner and I got engaged at the start of 2025 (and if you’re like “what?!” go read this post right now!). Somehow it’s already been about two months and the additional life responsibilities (read: work) have taken over. Until now I’ve only scraped the surface of Pinterest, attempting to fight the urge to save all the wedding inspiration I could see. I think I’m nervous that I’ll pick “wrong” because there is SO much inspiration, SO many options out there, and I love so many different styles.

But today, I wanted to make a point of dreaming. So here’s my vision board, if the sky was the limit, money was no object, and the weather was perfect… etc.

colors

I love the idea of a bright and summery color palette, created by the colors of wildflowers (which I want to be the star of the show), along with lots of greens to create accents and vibrancy. I envision our bridal party wearing dresses in all different colors, styles, and fabrics that go along with their own personal style but then still tie our theme of wildflowers.

location/setting

I would love to get married on The Perfect Summer Day. The kind of day where the sun is shining but it’s not too hot. The flowers are in bloom. Everything is green and bright. I’d love to be surrounded by nature and the people I love.

details, cake, and flowers

I saw these photos where a couple put Calico Critters on their wedding cake as the topper and… I am in love.

As for the other design elements, I swing back and forth between a “naked”, not quite frosted cake and a decked-out, give me all the icing, edible flowers, and edible glitter cake.

For additional decor (you know, other than all the fresh flowers), I want to be surrounded by pretty things. String lights, vintage glassware, and candlesticks.

My only requirement is that I feel like a pretty princess and that when I twirl my skirt threatens to take guests out because it’s so full and flowy.

ideas I hope to implement

• Giving out guests film cameras to document our wedding.

• Including books in some form - I’ve seen displays, seating charts, and table runners made of book pages. Something to tie my love for reading into the mix would be great.

• Maybe a disco ball or two? That would be cool.

• Including our cat, Lady, in some form - again, people are so creative. Using custom napkins or putting little figurines of their pets on their wedding cake.

• Getting more arm tattoos! Because they would look so cool in our photos!

Just imagine a little Lady on a cake. It would be too cute!
